Today I went to see my new kitty at the shelter! He is so adorable and lovable. He loves for you to hold him and cuddle him and pet him…he is perfect for me! He is being neutered right now and I can’t go get him until Thursday so this is the only picture I have so far. I will have LOTS more when he gets here so be prepared! lol

I am going to start making how-to videos for jewelry making and possibly painting.
I need some suggestions of what I should start with. If anyone wants to learn something particular please comment and let me know.
These are the things I can teach:

polymer clay jewelry
polymer clay figurines
mosaic pieces
frosted glass
painted furniture
furniture refabricing
hemp jewelry (any kind of knot)
There are some more things but I don’t have the resources right now to make videos about them.
If anyone has any suggestions at all please comment.

My first crocheted earrings..

So I made my first pair of crocheted earrings today. I just put them on Etsy. www.jenniferbirge.etsy.com
I didn’t even know what I was doing…just made a knot and kept going with it. But I use to make hemp necklaces and bags and all kinds of cool stuff when I was 19. I don’t really remember how to do all that tho.

I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning making these earrings. I think they turned out ok. I’m getting better at it. I think the more you wrap that wire the more patient you get with it. I like instant grativication so this is a big step for me lol.

Getting Discouraged about my Etsy shop

Ok so I know it takes a while to get started and all but I’m just feeling a little discouraged. I have had my shop open for a week and a half now and I’ve only had one sale. I have 60 items for sale, and they aren’t super expensive. I like to think my artwork is pretty good. I think I am alot more creative with my designs then some..also alot worse than some. :/ I just want to live off my art so bad! I’m tired of working a dead end job with no future. I’m starting to wish I hadn’t gone to massage school and I should of just done interior design like I’ve wanted to do since I was 9 years old. What was I thinking???! I don’t like giving massages..I like GETTING them!! I probably sound like a whiny baby right now. I just need to vent. So hear me out. I hate my job but really the only reason is because I don’t get along with the girls I work with. I never get along with girls. I don’t do anything to them but they always end up hating me. I mean, I know I can be a bitch…but for the most part I’m super nice to them. I work hard. I hate working hard at things I hate doing. And the moneys not even close to worth it.
Ok I drifted off there lol. sorry…
So. Etsy. I love it but I wish I was doing better with it. I sold more on Ebay but the fees are crazy high.
I just need to be patient. And in the meantime…make more goodies.
Maybe I should do research about what jewelry is popular. I hate the “fads” tho. I like original.
Ugh, I don’t know what to do. I guess I’ll just wait it out..can’t really do anything else about it anyway.
